Tough start up north this morning for us. We set up on a north troll into the waves. it was a sloppy troll. We hit a double first thing in the dark on 2 kings. One took a blue glow spoon set at 55 on an out down and the other took a 10″ Glow Blade White Crush Spin Doctor/Green Mirage Strong Fly 75 down on the chute rigger. The King on the chute ran across the other fish and broke off. The fish on the out down ran out a lot of line and wouldn’t come to the boat. We had to put out both our sea anchors and slow down to a crawl. It took about 30 minutes to land that King. When we finally got him in the net it was daylight and the bite was over for us. We turned in the 04’s back south for a down wind troll just off the Bank. We hit a couple fish before we turned back north and angled out to deeper water. We took a couple trout on a 10″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Chrome Chartreuse WhirlyGig down 180 feet on an out down. Our wire divers were good. A 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig went 3 time 165 feet on a high wire diver. We took a Steelhead on a 10″ Chrome UV Crush Yellow Dot Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rig on a 200 copper. We took a big King on a 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Death Big Water Rig on a low wire out 110. We had good action in the deeper water and finished the trip with a triple and a double. I will be posting more pictures from todays charter on Free Style Charters Face Book page. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper on all our copper rods.
Ludington Area Fishing Reports
8-4-16 Fishing Report

We have been fishing north of Ludington the last 2 days. We ran a double yesterday and a morning trip today. The action has been pretty good . We’ve been loading up with plugs on our coppers and cores first thing in the morning. We are using #3 glow plugs on our highest cores and Dreamweaver Captains Choice Cut Plugs on our other cores and coppers. Best colors for us have been Natural Glow, Pearl Zebra and Green Black Ladder Back. Later in the morning we are switching out the plugs for Spin Doctors and meat rigs. We have been starting with Spin Doctors/meat rigs on our divers and running them all day. We’ve been mixing it up on the riggers using spoons or plugs on our out downs and a flasher/fly combo on our chute rigger. Today we had a pair of DW Blue Skinny Jeans on a out down set a 49 that went 3 times. Our top Spin Doctor/meat rigs have been, 10″ White Crush/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig, 10″ Chrome Killer/Green Death Big Water Meat Rig, 10″ White Slick/Green Gasoline DW Rig or Green UV Big Water Rig, 10″ Chrome Crush UV Yellow Dot/UV On Ice Big Water Rig or DW Yellow Gasoline Rig and the custom Chrome Spin Doctor/Green Death Big Water Rig that took our 30.2 pounder on Tuesday. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper on all our copper rods.
