We fished south today setting up in 110 feet of water (fow). The temp break was 50 feet down. Our first fish came on a high wire diver out 100 with a mag glow spoon. We took 3 more quick ones. First one on an out down set at 45 ft. with a Pearl Zebra Captain’s Choice Cut Plug . Second one on a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly out 200 on a high wire diver and the third on a Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug on a 10 color core. We trolled south about 4 miles working between 100 and 150 fow without another bite. The further south we went the colder the down temp, so we turned back north. The current was coming from the south and we really had to bump up our speed to get a decent speed at the ball on our Fish Hawk unit. We took two fish on our north troll. One on a 7.5 color core with a Fireball spoon and the other 70 down on a out down with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Ocean Mist Action Fly. We finished the morning off back on a south troll taking 3 more fish before we pulled lines. We took one more on our high wire diver out 200 with the 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly, one on a 225 copper with a 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rig and our last fish came on a regular size Dreamweaver Green NBK spoon on a 250 copper. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
Ludington Area Fishing Reports
8-27-15 Fishing Report
We fished out front and a little south of Ludington today. It was light before we got our first bite. A King hit a 10 color core with a Dreamweaver Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. We took two more Kings on that plug. One on a 10 color and another on a 7.5 color core. We had a high wire diver out 200 with a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig take 3 fish and a Pearl Zebra Captain’s Choice Cut Plug took a Coho 55 down on an out down. Our chute rigger went once 75 down with a 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickle Sunshine Action Fly. We missed a few other hits, but after the first couple hours the action slowed for us. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
