After the strong south and west winds that kept us off the Lake the past two days we knew the water was going to be warm up north. We weren’t wrong. It was 70 degrees down 90 feet. Despite the warm water we took our first fish 58 down on an out down with a Captain’s Choice Pearl Zebra Cut Plug. The rest of our bites came down deep. Our two best rods were a 400 copper with a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and a low wire diver out 170 with a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig. They both went three times. An 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice on the chute rigger down 120 and a 11″ White Pearl Scale Paddle/Blue Bubble Action Fly down 150 on an out down went twice too. A 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 140 on a rigger took a big King. We had 14 bites and landed 9 Kings and a Steelhead. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.

We didn’t get the early bite this morning that we’ve had for the last few days. Boats around us were hitting fish, but we only took two. A Pearl Zebra Captains Choice Cut Plug set at 55 ft. on an out down and a Captain’s Choice Wonder Bread Cut Plug 65 down on our other out down took our two fish. We ended up taking the rest of our fish out in deeper water. Both our Steelhead came on a high wire diver out 210 with an 8′ Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Uv On Ice Big Water Meat Rig. We took a King on a 300 copper with a 10″ Mountain Dew Crush Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Our chute rigger down 200 feet with a Tin Can Dodger/Green Chartreuse Spin-N-Glow took a nice Laker and a surprise King Salmon. We took another King on a 225 copper with a 8″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/Uv On Ice Big Water Rig. Our biggest fish was a 22.33 lb. King taken on a low wire diver out 110 with a 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig. On our afternoon trip we headed back out to the same deep water we had success in this morning. We marked fish on our graph but couldn’t get them to bite. We didn’t take a fish until we made an in troll. A Lake Trout hit a Tin Can Dodger/Green Chartreuse Sin-N-Glow 200 ft. down on our chute rigger. We rode a while before a King hit a low wire diver out 140 with a 10″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/Uv On Ice Big Water Rig. We took two fish on a high wire diver out 190 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pearl Glow Big Water Meat Rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
