Good fishing this morning. We didn’t have a big morning flurry, but the action was steady most of the morning. Our first fish came on an out down set at 65 ft. with a 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Ocean Mist Action Fly. It was still dark when the King hit. It got into one of wires and broke off. We lost our best low wire rig, a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig, when a King came in hot, hit one of our rigger cables and broke off. What a bummer. We lost our 2 best rigs within 15 minutes of each other. We did still manage to land some big ones. It had been a few days since we’ve had any action on our chute rigger with a 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It went twice today set at 71. That same combo went two more times on an out down set at 80 feet. Our best coppers were a 250 with an 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/Black UV Big Water Meat Rig and a 300 with a 10″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.

We fished north today. The surface and down temp warmed considerably since yesterday morning. The waves were coming from the south and so was the current. I thought we would need a sea anchor to slow us down but we ended up not using a bag and had to bump up the speed to get a good trolling speed at the ball on our Fish Hawk. Had all our lines set before we got our first bite. It came on an out down set at 55 ft. with a 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Ocean Mist Action Fly. That set up has been hot for us the last few days but it only went once for us today. A 10 color core with a #3 Double Glow Plug took our next fish. Our other 10 color with a #3 plug took 2 bites. Our right low wire diver went 3 times today out 112 with a 10″ White Green Scale Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig. Our other low wire went twice with a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig. We trolled north for quite a ways and when the action slowed we turned back and put it on a 240 troll. We made it out to 290 feet of water and hit 7 fish on the way out boating 5 of them. Three of our bites came on a 250 copper with a 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/Black UV Big Water Meat Rig. We took 2 Lakers, including the one pictured above, on a Tin Can Dodger/Green Chartreuse Spin-N-Glow 200 ft. down on the chute rigger. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
