Ludington Area Fishing Reports

We fished north again today setting up in 70 feet of water (fow). The water was warm top to bottom and we didn’t hit out first fish until we got out deeper. Our plugs didn’t go this morning like they have been. We only had one plug bite. A Steelhead took a # 3 Double Glow on a 7.5 color core. Our out downs were set at 48 & 55 feet with glow spoons. The 48 down went twice with regular size DW Beefeaters. A low wire diver out 85 with a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig took our biggest King. A 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 150 took two nice kings. We moved out to deeper water and finished the trip out there. No baits took more than 1 bite out deep. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

We fished north of Ludington again today. We had a nice box of fish going until a thunder storm chased us off the lake at 9:00 a.m. We caught them on a little bit of everything. The only rod that went twice was a 10 color core with a Michigan Shiner Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. Our out down set at 46 ft. took a big Coho with a pair of regular size DW Beefeater spoons. Our biggest King came on the Michigan Shiner plug on a 10 color core. Our low wires were set at 80 & 85 ft. and they both took a fish. 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctors/Green Mile Big Water Rigs were on both of them.  We had 1 high wire out 120 with a 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline DW Meat Rig that went once.  We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
