A morning storm prevented us from going out this A.M. so we rescheduled the trip for the afternoon. We headed out southwest of Ludington and set up in 180 feet of water (fow). We trolled out to 420 fow and then back in to 180. We had 14 bites and landed 9 of them. Our hot rod was an out down set at 60 feet with a pair of regular size Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail spoons. We took our biggest Steelhead on a mag size Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail on a 300 copper. The surface temp was 68 degrees, but that didn’t stop a Steelhead from hitting a Super Slim Steelie Dan on a 3 color core. We hit two fish on high divers out 110 & 120 with Monkey Shine Super Slims.
Ludington Area Fishing Reports
9-8-13 Fishing Report
We fished southwest of Ludington today setting up in 180 feet of water (fow) and putting it on a 240 troll. The temp was 44 degrees down 50 feet and warmed slowly to 49 degrees at 50 feet in the 39’s west. Our first fish was our biggest, a nice King, on a regular size Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail spoon down 40 feet on an out down. Most of our bites were on 3 color cores. We had an Super Slim Super Bread on one and a Super Slim Steelie Dan on the other. We had 2 bites on a 10 color core with a DW Green Skinny Jeans. Our 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly set at 60 feet took a Lake Trout and had another hit, but we missed that one. Our early action was good, but when the wind picked up the action slowed.
