Ludington Area Fishing Reports

We have been fishing the pier heads the last two days and it has been good. Our best action has been early on the morning trips and late on our afternoon trip. Plugs have taken most of our catches. Our 3 color cores have been the best with Dreamweaver Captains Choice Cut Plugs. The Natural Glow, Green Black Ladder Back and Lucky Charm have been our best producers. A 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 65 on a high diver has been good. We have taken a few on our low wire divers out 30 & 35 feet with 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctors/Froggie Big Water Meat Rigs baited with Erie Dearie Meat.

The north wind turned the water over up north. The surface temp was 42.9 in the 00’s. We ended up fishing the pier heads this morning. Plugs on 3 & 5 color cores took all our fish but one. We had 5 bites on our wire divers with 10″ Spin Doctors and Big Water Meat Rigs. We only put one of them in the boat. A 10″ Dark Green White Crush Spin Doctor/Froggie Big Water Meat Rig  out 35 on a low wire went 3 times. Our best plug was a Dreamweaver Natural Glow Cut Plug on a 3 color core. The bite was good early, but when it died – it died.
