We fished north the last two days setting up in 110 feet of water (fow) just off the bank. The morning bite has been slow for us. There has been fish taken inside in 40 to 70 fow, but the bite has been short lived. we haven’t found any particular depth that is holding a large concentration of fish. We have just been working the water over between the 01’s & o5’s between 120 & 80 fow. By far our best rods have been our high wire divers. We have a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig on one and the same flasher with a Froggie Big Water Rig on the other. Our best core has been a 10 color with a Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug. We took our biggest King today on a #3 Silver Horde Lighting Plug on a 3 color core.
Ludington Area Fishing Reports
8-18-13 Fishing Report
We fished up north the last three days. We had doubles on Friday and Saturday and just one trip today. The fishing has been decent, but not consistent. We have been starting out between 90 & 120 feet of water (fow) in the morning and then taking it out deep after the action slows. Plugs have been working well for us on 3, 5, & 8 color cores. The Dreamweaver Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug has been our best plug. The water has been cold so we have been running our wire divers shallow. A 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/ Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig out 70 ft. on a high wire diver has been very good for us in the morning. On our afternoon trip on the 16th a 10″ Chrome Frog Spin Doctor/Chrome Frog Dreamweaver Meat Rig went 3 times 56 down on the chute rigger. Today we didn’t go out deep after the morning bite. We stayed inside working in and off the bank. We had just enough action to keep us in there. Early it was all plugs and later in the morning our wire divers with 10″ Spin Doctors and Big Water Meat Rigs started taking fish. We use Erie Dearie Meat on all our meat rigs. We didn’t have a rigger bite today.
