We fished the last two days in and near Ludington harbor and in PM Lake. We caught some big ones. Today we had 3 Kings over 25 lbs. Our hot plug was a Dreamweaver Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug set at 18 feet on an out down. Most of our fish came on plugs. We took several on 10″ Spin Doctors and Big Water Meat Rigs. A 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Meat Rig was good in the morning 65 ft. out on a high wire diver. A 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Meat Rig out 35 ft. on a low wire diver was good too. We hit fish on 3 & 5 color cores with plugs. Our biggest King today, 25.88 lbs., came on a Super Slim Super Bread spoon 75 out on a Slide Diver in front of the Coast Guard Station. The boat traffic has been heavy, but the action has made it worth putting up with for us.
Ludington Area Fishing Reports
8-12-13 Fishing Report
Good fishing today southwest of Ludington. We ran a double and fished them both between 240 & 475 feet of water. Our mature Kings came on an 11″ White Crush Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly 80 ft. down on the chute rigger and a regular size Dreamweaver Wonder Bread spoon on a 200 copper. We took 4 fish on the Paddle and the Wonder Bread spoon was one of our hot baits for the day. Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail spoons have been our hottest spoons the last couple of trips out there. We have been running them on a high wire diver, a pair on a out down, and one on a 10 color core. A Super Slim Super Bread on a 150 copper took 3 shots on our afternoon trip. A Yeck Fireball out 110 on a high wire was good on our morning trip, but didn’t take a hit in the afternoon. A DW Beefeater spoon 90 ft. out on a low wire took fish on both trips.
