Ludington Area Fishing Reports

Fished north this morning. It was 62 degrees down 80 feet on our Fish Hawk. First rod to go was a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Double Orange Crush. It went another time a little later. Our 200 copper with a small Pink plug, 225 copper with an SS Metallic Frog, 250 copper with a #3 Green J-Plug, and a 325 copper with a Dreamweaver Captain’s Choice Natural Glow Cut Plug all had bites. Port high wire diver out 200 went once with a DW Green Black Ladderback Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and 2 more times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high wire out 250 went twice with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire Diver out 140 went 6 times with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire went twice with an 8″ White Crush Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port out down set at 85 with a pair of SS Soda spoons went at least 6 times. Chute rigger down 100 went 7 times with a mag Fuzzy Bear Soda and a SS Soda free sliding above it. A pair of Green Glow spoons on the starboard out down set at 75 went 5 times. Our crew were experienced fisherman and did a good job on the rods. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

 

Fished north this morning. The water was warmer today than yesterday. Our first bite came on a 225 copper with a SS Metallic Glow Frog. It was smaller King. It went 2 more times today. We took a fish on a 5 color core with an SS Rasta Goose, 1 on a 10 color core with a small Pink plug, and a Coho & Steelhead on a 175 copper with a Gold Yeck Fireball. Port high wire diver out 130 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine went once. Port low wire out 100 went once out 100 with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and another time with an 8″ Kevins Girlfriend Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high diver never took a bite. Starboard low wire out 85 went twice with an 8″ White Crush Paddle/Little Boy Blue Fly. Starboard out down set at 55 went twice with a pair of SS Chilly Willy’s. Chute rigger down 65 went once with a DW Green Hulk on the bottom and an SS Half Green Hulk free sliding above it. It went again down 90 with an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly. Port out down set at 65 went twice with an 8″ White Crush Paddle/Little Boy Blue Fly. We didn’t have the action we have been getting on our last trips this month. Our crew did a good job landing the fish they fought. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
