Ludington Area Fishing Reports

Fished north this morning. Had all our rods set when a King hit a 3 color core with an SS Orange Slice. Next rod was a 7.5 color core with a mag RV Green Jeans Fuzzy Bear spoon. Then it was game on. We took fish on a 5 color core with a small Pink plug, 7.5 color core with another small Pink plug, a SS Metallic Glow Frog on a 10 color core, a 200 copper with a small Black Lightning plug and a 250 coper with a Dreamweaver Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. Port high wire diver out 130 went 4 times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high wire diver out 150 went 4 times with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire out 90 with a 8″ white Crush Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a mature King. Starboard low wire out 90 took a Coho with a small Pink plug. Port out down set at 55 with a DW Half Wonder Bread and a SS Soda free sliding above it went twice. Both fish hit the free slider. Port out down with a pair of Green Glow spoons went twice. The chute rigger set at 70 went twice with a DW Green Hulk and a SS Half Green Hulk free sliding above it. Both times the fish took the free slider. Our crew did a great job on the rods. Don’t think we lost one fish that was on when they got the rod in their hands. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Fished north this morning. It was rough and we got off to a slow start. We were getting the bites, but they wouldn’t stay hooked up. 3 color core with a SS Orange Slice went twice and once with a Double Orange Crush. Port 3 color went with a small Gray Ghost plug and later with a SS Gold Majic Man. Port 5 color went one with a Modified Coyote. Starboard 5 color went once with a small Double Glow plug and once with a Double Orange Crush. Port 7.5 color core took a Coho on a standard Fuzzy Bear Arlo. Starboard 7.5 went twice with a small Pink plug and twice with an SS Orange Slice. Ten color core with a SS Metallic Frog went twice and a 200 copper with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Meatless Teaser went twice. Port high wire diver out 100 early and 150 a little later went 3 times with an 8″ White Two Face Paddle/Green UV Fly, 5 times with an 8″ Chrome Two Face Paddle/Green UV Fly, and twice with an 8″ White Paddle with Green Dots/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high diver out 150 went 9 times with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver out 100 with a 10″ White Killer Spin Doctor/Meat Rig went 3 times and 2 times with an 8″ Keviin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Meat Rig. We lost a lot of fish on our divers. Starboard out down at 50 went 3 times with a pair of Green Glow spoons and twice with a pair of SS Chilly Willies. Chute rigger down 60 with a DW Rasta Goose and a SS Rasta Goose free sliding above it went twice. Port out down set at 42 went 3 times with a standard UV Hulk and a SS Hulk free sliding above the main bait took 3 Coho. All 3 took the slider. We had a slow start but ended up with a strong finish. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
