Ludington Area Fishing Reports

Fished south today. Not as many boats as yesterday, but still a lot of boats. We didn’t get the strong early bite we had yesterday. A 10 color core with a mag Half Green Jeans went early. Our other 10 color went twice with a small Pink plug. Port 225 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Shelly Snack went twice and our other 225 with a DW A Bomb took a King. We took a Steelhead on a 250 copper with a small Pink plug. We took another Steelhead later in the morning on a 7.5 color core with a Fireball. Our starboard high wire diver with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went 5 times, once at 165, twice at 185, & twice at 210. Port high wire diver went once at 200 with an 8″ White Crush Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Out in deeper water it went once out 100 with a Fireball. Starboard low wire diver with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend went 2 times out 85 and 2 times out 110. Port low wire out 130 with a 10′ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW meat rig went 4 times. Port out down went 1 time down 80 with an SS Green Hulk on the bottom and a SS Half Hulk free sliding above it. The fish took the slider. Starboard out down set at 70 went twice with a pair of Glow spoons and once down 60 with a pair of SS Half Wonder Bread spoons. We had a couple young anglers today that did great on the rods. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninga Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Fished south today to avoid the boats up north. Didn’t avoid boats. Pictured left is what our radar screen looked like after we were set up. Our starboard 7.5 and 10 color cores with small plugs went first. They got tangled in the dark. We ended up losing both fish and had to cut our 10 color. Starboard out down set at 70 with a pair of Glow Spoons went 5 times early and once later with a pair of SS Spotted Magic Man spoons. Port out down set at 50 went once with a pair of Glow spoons and once later down 80 with a pair of spoons. Port high wire diver out 200 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a mature King. Starboard high wire out 200 went 5 times with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver out 130 went 5 times with a 10″ White Crush Light Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver meat rig. Starboard low wire went 3 times early out 85 with a mag Glow spoon. A 225 copper with a DW A Bomb spoon went twice and a 275 copper with a mag Dreamweaver Chilly Willie went twice too. Later in the morning we took a Steelhead on a 5 color core with a Fireball and a big Coho on a 3 color core with a Double Orange Crush. It helped we had an experienced crew that have fished with us many years on the rods. They did good. We use Morgan’s copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards. and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
