Ludington Area Fishing Reports

Fished north again today setting up just off the shelf. Both our 7.5 color cores went early. One with a regular Wonder Bread spoon and one with a Double Glow small plug. Our 10 color cores each went once. One with a small Pink Plug and one with a mag Glow spoon. Port 225 coper took a King with a small Pinkie plug and our port 250 copper with a small Black Lighting plug took a Steelhead and a Coho. Starboard 225 copper with a DW A Bomb spoon took a rip but didn’t hook up. Port high wire diver out 200 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice. Port low wire out 95 took a nice King on an 8″ White Crush Glow Blade Flip Fin Paddle/Glow Blue Bubble Action Fly. The fly got destroyed so we put a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig out 110 and it took a mature King. We started the morning out with an 11′ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 85 on the chute rigger stacked with Half a Wonder Bread SS spoon. It went twice. Later we put an 11″ Dreamweaver Charlie’s Special Paddle/Green Crinkle Action Fly on the chute down 130 stacked with a Half Wonder Bread SS spoon. The Paddle went twice and the stack once. Our starboard out down set at 70 went several times with a pair of Green Glow spoons. Port out down set at 65 with a set of custom Glow spoons went twice. We had a fun crew that did a great job on the rods. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Fished north today. The early bite was good. Chute rigger down 85 with a big Black Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went 2 times, then we swapped it out for a White one and it went 3 times. Starboard out down set at 70 went 3 times with a pair of Green Glow spoons. We took a fish on a 7.5 color core with a SS Shelly Snack. Our other 7.5 went once with a regular Hulk. A 10 color with a small Pink plug took a fish and the other 10 color with a Fireball took a Steelhead. A 225 copper with a DW A Bomb went once and so did a 225 copper with a small Pink plug. A 250 copper with a small Black Lighting plug went once. Starboard high wire diver out 200 with an 8″White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice and once out 250. Later in the trip it went out 270 with an 8″ Charlie’s Special Flip Fin Paddle/ Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port high wire went twice out 200 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and once out 300 with an 8′ Chrome Two Face Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Starboard low wire out 100 took a King with an 8″ White Crush Glow Blade Flip Fin Paddle/Glow Blue Bubble Action Fly. Port low wire out 175 with a 10″ Chrome UV Black Spin Doctor/Black Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig. We took a Steelhead late in the morning on a 3 color core with a Double Orange Crush. Didn’t have time to take many pictures. We had an experienced crew today and they helped out a lot.
