We fish an afternoon trip today. We heard some boats did good in the morning up north so we headed up there. The wind had picked up and it was pretty rough. Rougher than I expected. My initial plan was to set up south of the Point and troll north but it was too rough for that. We set up north of the Point and made a down wind troll. We hit our first fish on a high wire diver out 135 with a 10″ Atommic Green Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver meat rig. It took out a lot of wire and was putting up quite a fight. Then another King hit a Super Slim Rasta Goose free sliding above a DW Rasta Goose 35 down on an out down. One of our 7.5 color cores went with a SS Rasta Goose, a triple. With some teamwork we managed to get all three in the boat. We took another Trout on an 11″ Black Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly 70 down on the chute rigger. We took another King on a 10″ Yellow Bikini Bottom Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline DW meat rig and two more on a low wire diver out 95 with a 10 ” Netminder UV Showtime Spin Doctor/Blue UV Dreamweaver meat rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
We fished a two boat trip today with Dreamweaver Charters. We fished out by the weather buoy most of the morning. We started in 75 feet of water and trolled west. We were all set up when we took a fish on an out down set at 55 with a pair of DW Skinny Jeans. A small King hit the free slider. We trolled out to 120 feet of water and turned back east. We took a Laker on the chute rigger bouncing bottom with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot WhirlyGig in 100 feet. We took four of our six Trout on the same rig. Our biggest Trout came on a low wire diver out 110 with a 10″ White Crush Glow Blade Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We took another Trout near the bottom on the other low wire with a 10″ Chrome Spin Doctor and a big White Pink Spin-N-Glo. The wind kicked up from the north so we turned souteast in 100 feet of water to finish out the trip. We hit a big King in 95 feet of water on a high wire diver out 135 with a 10″ White Atomic Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo meat rig. It was on for a while but got away.
