We fished north today. The temp break was at 55 feet. We caught most of our fish between 120 and 90 feet of water. We had 2 bites on a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Green Mirage Strong Fly on a low wire out 85 feet. We had a big fish break us off when it took a regular DW Green Skinny Jeans on a stack and run under 2 riggers and come up on the other side of the boat. We took a Steelhead on a 175 copper with a 8′ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo Dreamweaver Meat Rig. We lost a good fish on a 7.5 color core with an 8″ Chrome UV Crush Yellow Dot Spin Doctor/UV ON Ice Big Water Meat Rig. Our hot rig was a 10″ Custom Chrome Spin Doctor/Green Death Big Water Meat Rig. First Mate Austin Tomasek had it on his high wire diver set at 130 ft. It went 4 times and took the 30.2 lb. 40″Master Angler King Salmon pictured left. That fish put up one heck of a fight. It ran out a 1000 ft. of wire on it’s initial run. We thought it was a foul hooked fish until it finally got close to the boat and we could see just how big it was. Tom F. was one happy angler and is having his trophy mounted by Riverside Taxidermy. The custom Spin Doctor and Green Death Meat Rig are pictured below. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.

We had a good early morning bite today up north. First rod to go was a high wire diver out 130 with a 10′ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly. A 200 copper with a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Captain’s Choice Cut Plug went next. While we were fighting those 2 we missed a King on a low wire diver out 110 with a 10″ Glow Blade Spin Doctor/Green Mirage Strong Fly. We hit another King on a 250 copper on a Pearl Zebra Captain’s Choice Plug. We got one of the fish in and then the low wire went again with the 10″ Glow Blade/Green Mirage Strong Fly. We ended up getting all those Kings in the boat then a 175 copper with a Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug took a nice Lake Trout. Just north of the Point the 175 copper with the Natural Glow Plug took a big Steelhead. Boat traffic was heavy again today. When we turned back south and headed southwest for deeper water. We took 2 Kings and 2 Lakers out there. Both the Kings came on a 300 copper with a 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Both the Lakers came on a tin can dodger/Green Chartreuse Spin-N-Glo. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
