We fished north of Ludington today . The water was colder than yesterday. It was 48 degrees down 70 feet. We didn’t get an early bite. We were north of the Point before we hit our first fish. A big King took a DW Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug on a 250 copper. Another fish hit the same plug but didn’t hook up. A high wire diver out 185 with a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig took 2 Kings . Our 4th big fish came on an 8″ White Crush top Green bottom Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Rig on a 300 copper. We caught 3 Lakers, but only kept 2. One was under size. The small king came on a stack on a glow spoon. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.

We fished north of Ludington the last two days. We didn’t have much action yesterday, 5 bites 4 fish, but the fish we caught were big ones. Both our Kings were over 20 lbs. and the Trout were heavy too. The action was better today. We hit 7 fish on our first pass down the Bank landing 3 of them. Our best 2 rods were a high wire diver out 250 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig and a 375 copper with a Peal Zebra DW Captains Choice Cut Plug . Both rods went 3 times. We lost 2 Kings on the plug and landed a big trout on it. We pulled the hooks on 1 of the Kings at the back of the boat and the other one got tangled in a 400 copper and got off. Yesterday it was rough with waves out of the west so we trolled mostly west and back east working between 350 and 120 feet of water. Today it was a north south troll working between 130 and 200 feet of water. We took 1 of our Kings on a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 180 on a low wire diver and another on a 8″ Margareta Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig. We also caught a small throw back Lake Trout down 150 feet on a tin can dodger and a Green/Chartreuse Spin-N-Glo . We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and use Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
