Had a good day today fishing offshore south west of Ludington. All our bites came on spoons. We had a few Spin Doctor/Fly combos out and they didn’t go. Most of our catch came between 160 and 240 feet of water. Our highest fish was a Steelhead on a 5 color core with a regular size Bloody Nose spoon. Our deepest came on a 300 copper with a mag size Modified Blue Dolphin Fuzzy Bear spoon. We had a Slide Diver out 160 with a Super Slim Steelie Stomper that took a Coho and a Steelhead. A 10 color core with a Yeck Whopper Stomper took two fish. We didn’t have many rigger bites. We did hit a couple on an out down set at 55 feet with a pair of Super Slim Mixed Veggies. Most of the fish we cleaned were full of small alewifes and we were marking schools of bait between 180 and 220 feet of water. We have open dates, so if you would like to give it a try call 231 425-8723 to reserve your date.
Ludington Area Fishing Reports
9-21-15 Fishing Report
We fished southwest again this afternoon between 150 and 210 feet of water. We marked a lot of bait and some fish, but trolled for quite a while before we had a bite. We took a Steelhead on a pair of Yeck Jared’s 55 down on an out down. It took the slider. We hit four more fish on them and every one took the slider. We took another Steelie on a 3 color core with a Super Slim Magic Man. Our chute rigger down 75 had a pair of magnum Fuzzy Bear spoons on it. We hit a big fish on the stack, a Blue Educator, and it got off. A 10 color with a Lighting spoon went twice and a 3 color with a Yeck Fireball took a fish. We worked with our divers all afternoon and never had a bite on them. We are going back out there Wednesday morning and will have another report then.
