Ludington Area Fishing Reports

Fished north again today basically in the same area as yesterday. The morning bite wasn’t as intense for us today as it has been  the last two days but it lasted longer. First rod to go was a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Captions Cut Plug on a 5 color core. It went twice early. Our wire divers were good in the morning and steady all day. We started out with a 8″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 130 on one high wire and a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Big Water Meat Rig out 150 on the other high wire. The ShowTime/Blue Moo went twice and the Chrome Killer/Green Moo went three times early. We had two low wire bites during the morning flurry. They both came on a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Rig out 70. Later in the morning we dropped the 8″ Chrome Killer back to 150 and it went three more times. We took the Showtime off the other high wire and put a 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Rig out 160 and it took four shots. We didn’t get all the fish that hit our wires today, but we got a lot of action out of them. The Chrome Killer Spin Doctor was defiantly our best blade today. We had a 8″ Yellow Sparkle Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig down 48 on an out down that went twice. Our chute rigger with a big White Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice at 65 ft., once at 85 ft. and once at 100 ft. Our rigger action hasn’t been much for a while now. It was good to get bites on them today. We are using Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

We fished north the last 2 days setting up in 120 feet of water (fow) just off the bank. The morning bite has been good both days. The water is cold 30 feet down and the Kings are full of fight. Not as many fished were boated today as yesterday during the morning flurry. The fish we did land were nice ones. We had two 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rigs out. One on a high wire out 150 and one on a low wire out 70. Both took several bites. Today the high wire was better than the low. An 8″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo Dreamweaver Meat Rig was out 130 on our other high wire. It went twice. A Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug on a 5 color core went twice both days. A # 3 Silver Horde Moldy Wonder Bread plug has been good on a 7.5 color core. We had a Green Ladder-back Captains Choice Cut Plug on an out down set at 35 ft.  and an 11″ White Crush Paddle/ Pickled Sunshine Action Fly at 65 ft. on the chute rigger take fish.  After the morning bite we’ve been switching our high wire divers over to a 10 ” Yellow Sparkle Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig and a 10″ Green Sparkle Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig. We had a couple bites on both of them today but didn’t get good hook ups. For us it was very slow after the first hour or so today. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
