We fished north this morning on a 5 hour trip. We set up in 110 feet of water south of the bath house. The water is still warm from the strong south wind a couple days ago. The graph looked good. Lots of fish and bait on the screen. All our rods were set when we had a tug on a high wire diver out 220 with a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Didn’t get a good hook up and no fish. We boated our first fish on a SS Soda free sliding above a DW Soda on an out down set at 80. We moved out to deeper water and took a small King on a 7.5 color core with a Gold Yeck Fireball. We marked fish and bait all morning but couldn’t get them to bite.
Our last fish came on a SS Green Hulk rubber band stacked 20 feet above an 11″ White Slick Paddle/ Pickled Sunshine Fly down 100 on an out down. That was it, 4 bites 3 fish. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Premium Strips and pull our lead cores and coppers with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.

Very slow fishing this morning. The Seagull surface temp map showed a bubble of warm water straight out and a little north of Ludington. We really wanted to fish up north but, on the way up there we hit cold water, so we shut down in 120 feet of water and trolled west-southwest. All our rods were set when a Trout took an 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly 80 down on the chute rigger.
We were happy to get a fish in the boat. We went quite a while before a fish hit an orange glow spoon on a 7.5 color core. It got into one of our other boards and got away. Our second fish was a big Lake Trout. It hit an 10″ UV Gold Spin Doctor/Pink and White Spin-N-Glo on an out down set just off the bottom. We took it up to Capt. Chucks after the trip and it weighed 19 lbs. on their scale.
We missed a fish on that same set up later in the morning. Our last fish, a Lake Trout, came on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Fireball. Five bites three fish today. Our next scheduled trip Thursday the 20th. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire and pull our lead cores and coppers with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
