Ludington Area Fishing Reports

We set up in 100 feet of water. It was 43 degrees down 45 feet on our Fish Hawk. Our port out down set at 55 with a mag DW UV Wonder Bread and a standard glow spoon free sliding above it went. A Coho took the free slider. The chute rigger down 75 with an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a King. Later in the trip out deeper we lost one on it down 105. A 7.5 color core with a #3 Glow Black Ladder Back Plug went twice. We took 2 fish on a 10 color core with a Lucky Charms Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. We lost a fish on a 5 color core with a Yeck Double Orange Crush. A 7.5 color core with a standard Green Hulk went twice. Our other 10 went twice with a mag glow spoon. A 275 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Blue Slice went. We lost a big fish on a 250 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Shelly Snack. Port high wire diver out 110 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a Coho. Port low wire diver out 80 with a 10″ Black Slick Green Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig took a nice fish. Starboard high wire diver out 150 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went 3 times. It was a fun trip with a Grandpa, 3 Grandsons, and two Dads.  We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We pull our lead cores with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.

We set up in 100 feet of water. It was 58 degrees down 75 feet on our Fish Hawk. There were a lot bigger waves than we anticipated, and we had a tough time setting up. It was hard to get a decent speed and troll. Our first hit came on the chute rigger down 85 with an 11″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a standard DW Blue Hulk.  We missed it. Same thing when our probe rigger went at 70 with a Captain’s Choice Glow Black Ladder Back Cut Plug. We hung around the 100-foot mark for a while, but no more bites. We turned it out southwest for deeper water. We took a King on the turn on a 250 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Shelly Snack. We took another King on it out deeper. We lowered the chute rigger to 105 and it went right away. It was a King on the DW Blue Hulk stack. It went again a short time later but this time one of our bigger Kings took the Paddle/Fly. Our out down set at 95 with a pair of DW Blue Hulks took a King. We missed a fish on our high wire diver out 245 with a White Crush Two Face Filp Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. The fin was deployed. Our last bite came on a low wire Deeper Diver out 175 with a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Meat Rig. It was a hit and run. One of our crew was very sick from the rough water so we came in early. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We pull our lead cores and copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
