Ludington Area Fishing Reports

We set up in 70 feet of water. It was 43 degrees down 40 feet on our Fish Hawk. All rods were set when a 5 color core with a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice took off. Before we boated that King a high Slide Diver out 150 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly went. Another King was on. We had a one man charter today and he had his hands full. He boated both Kings. A 7.5 color core with a mag glow spoon produced our third King. The high Slide Diver out 150 with the White Slick Flip Fin went again and our fourth King came to the net. We took a nice Lake Trout on a 225 copper with an 8″ White Fish Scale Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We hit a small King when we were pulling lines on a low wire Deeper Diver out 55 with another White Slick Flip Fin Paddle, but this one had a Dreamweaver Pickled Sunshine Meat Rig behind it. First Mate Abe reeled it in. Our charter was a perfect 5 for 5 on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We pull our lead cores and coppers with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.

We started at the Ludington Pier Heads in 40 feet of water. Our first King came on a on a low wire diver out 40 with an 8″ White Crush Wonder Bread Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We doubled up when another King hit a 5 color core with a #3 Glow Black Ladderback Plug. A Coho took an orange glow spoon on a 2 color core. A second Coho hit a Thunder Stick 20 down on an out down. We had 3 more bites before we headed out to deeper water but didn’t get good hook ups. We set back up in 250 feet of water. Our first bite came on a 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 100 on a Slide Diver. It broke off. We rode for a while with no bites until our chute rigger down 110 with an 11″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly fired. It went again a little later. We missed a fish on our starboard out down set at 95 with an 8″ Green Dragon Slayer/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly. We took a King on the port out down set at 110 with a 2 color core and a mag Blue Spotted Dolphin. A 3 color core with a Yeck Double Orange Crush took a King and a 5 color core with a Yeck Fireball took a Steelhead. It was nice and calm and a beautiful day on the Lake. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We pull our lead cores and copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
