We fished north again this morning. We set up south of Big Point Sable in 120 feet of water and trolled north. We hit our first fish on a 7.5 color core with a Super Slim Rasta Goose. It was a good size King that went in the box. We took our second fish, a Laker, on an 11″ DW Black Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly 85 down on the chute rigger. We hit another big King just north of the Point on a 10″ White Atommic Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo Dreamweaver meat rig out 135 on a high wire diver. It ran out over 600 feet of wire. After a long fight we lost it right at the back of the boat. It was slow going after that. We put three more Trout in the box and were getting ready to pull lines when we hit another big King. It came on a 10″ Yellow Bikini Bottom Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver meat rig, pictured above, out 110 on a high wire diver. After another long fight we boated it. That Spin Doctor/Meat Rig combo was very good for us yesterday. The bites came hard today. On our last pass by the Point the surface temp had dropped to 44 degrees. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on our copper rods.
