Fished south of Ludington today. It was breezy and a little cool and the fishing was good. Most of our fish were caught between 55 and 65 feet of water. Our biggest Trout came on a 7.5 color core with a Super Slim Rasta Goose spoon pictured above . It is new for this year. The rest of our catch came on 8″ Spin Doctors and Dreamweaver Whirly Gigs. The best combo for us today was a Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor and a Chrome Chartreuse Whirly Gig on our wire divers. We took a couple fish on the Chrome Blue Glow Wing Whirly Gig but they preferred the Chartreuse today.
5-11-19 Fishing Report
Three afternoon trips in a row. It’s been a long time since we’ve done that and the fishing has been fantastic. It’s pretty simple to do these reports right now. We have been running the same program every trip. Run south and set up in 60 to 65 feet of water. Put 8″ Lake Trout Candy and Chrome Spin Doctors & DW Whirly Gigs on all our divers and riggers. We run the Chrome Chartreuse Whirly Gigs on our high wire divers and the Blue Chrome Glow Wing Whirly Gigs on our low wires. The Chrome Chartreuse usually is best when the sun is out. Yesterday afternoon it was cloudy and we took more fish on that one over the Blue Chrome. We had a straight 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor with a Green Chartreuse Whirly Gig with Glow Wings go a couple times on an out down bouncing on bottom. Every trip the wire divers fished on or near the bottom take the majority of fish. We don’t have any trips scheduled next week until the weekend.
