We fished up north again today setting up south of the Bathhouse in 110 feet of water (fow) and trolling north. We hit 3 big Kings right away. We didn’t have any cores or coppers in the water yet when the chute rigger down 82 with a 11″ White crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly fired with a big fish. It made a long run but got off. When we reeled in the Paddle we saw how it got away, turned the hook. An out down set at 65 ft. with a mag size glow spoon went next. We got that one. As soon as we put it in the cooler the chute rigger fired again. That one didn’t get away and is pictured left. That was it for the morning flurry. We talked to a couple other boats and they said the same thing. A couple bites early then nothing. We put a Tin Can Dodger/Green Chartreuse Spin n Glo down on the bottom hoping to pull a few Lake Trout. We caught 5 trout on it, but only 1 keeper. The other 4 were between 13 & 14 inches long. We turned back south when we hit the middle of the 05’s with only 1 bite, a small throw back Trout. We had a little flurry at the Point. We took a big Laker on a 7.5 color core with a Super Slim Beefeater, a keeper Laker on an out down set a 90 ft. with a regular size glow spoon, and another throw back Laker. We worked between the 02’s & 05’s mostly between 100 & 130 fow. We had Spin Doctors and meat rigs on our divers, and coppers but only had 1 meat bite all morning. It was a good size King the hit a low wire diver with a 10″ Green Sparkler Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline DW Meat Rig out 100. Our chute rigger with the Paddle Pickle combo took a couple keeper Trout too.

We fished up north again today. We left at 6:00 a.m. yesterday morning. We thought we would have a better King bite today by leaving at our usual time of 5:00 a.m. this morning, didn’t happen. We set up in 110 feet of water (fow) south of the Bath House and trolled north. It took a while before we hit our first fish, a small Laker took the stack on our chute rigger down 80 ft. The stack was a Super Slim Green Ghost. We took a King on a 7.5 color with a glow spoon and missed one on an out down set at 55 with a pair of glow spoons. We took a Trout on a Tin Can Dodger/Spin n Glo and missed a fish on a 10″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rig out 120 on a low wire diver. It was a slow pick all morning. A 10″ White Crush Green Prism Spin Doctor/home made Pickled Sunshine Action Fly meat rig on a high wire went 3 times, twice 200 out & once out 230. A regular size Dreamweaver UV Super Bread on a 200 copper went once and a UV Yellow Leopard Frog took a trout on a 250 copper. Kept a couple Lake Trout and threw back six small ones on the Tin Can/Spin n Glo combo bouncing bottom. We spent most of the morning working between 100 and 130 fow.
