Ludington Area Fishing Reports

Fished the Ludington pier heads again today. All our fish but one came on plugs. Our out downs were set at 16 & 18 feet with plugs. We had Slide Divers out 55 & 65 feet. One had a Spin Doctor/Meat Rig and the other had a 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. The meat rig didn’t take a hit, but we took a nice King on the Blue Bubble/Action Fly. Our best Plug was the Captains Choice Natural Glow Cut Plug. We are hoping the south wind doesn’t chase the Kings away.

We have been fishing the pier heads the last two days and it has been good. Our best action has been early on the morning trips and late on our afternoon trip. Plugs have taken most of our catches. Our 3 color cores have been the best with Dreamweaver Captains Choice Cut Plugs. The Natural Glow, Green Black Ladder Back and Lucky Charm have been our best producers. A 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 65 on a high diver has been good. We have taken a few on our low wire divers out 30 & 35 feet with 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctors/Froggie Big Water Meat Rigs baited with Erie Dearie Meat.
