Fished the same group yesterday and today. We fished north setting up off the shelf south of the Bath House. Surface temp was 56 degrees. It was 49 degrees down 80 feet on our Fish Hawk. We didn’t see many fish on our graph and the ones we saw were down near the bottom. First bite came on the chute rigger down 110 with an 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a Super Slim Half Green Jeans. The King took the stack. That Half Green Jeans Super Slim has been our best bait the last two trips. Yesterday it went 5 times on the chute rigger. Today it went 4 times stacked on the chute rigger, twice stacked on the starboard out down set at 85 and 3 times on the port out down set at 105 stacked above a mag Fuzzy Bear Half Green Jeans. These bites were not just small fish.
One of biggest Kings came on it. We took a small Laker on the chute rigger down 150 with the 11′ White Slick
Paddle/Pickle. We took 2 fish on the starboard out down set at 85 on a 8″ Chrome Green Spot Flip Fin/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high diver out 185 with an 8″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went 3 times. Port low wire diver out 165 with a 10 Chrome Green Dot Spin Doctor/A Bomb Dreamweaver Meat Rig went twice today and once yesterday. A 250 copper with a Super Slim Soda went 3 times. A 300 copper with a mag glow spoon took a rip. We took some bigger fish today.
Yesterday we hit a few bigger fish but they managed to escape.
The picture on the bottom is todays catch. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire and Dreamweaver Meat in all our meat rigs. We pull our coppers and lead cores with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.

Ludington Area Fishing Reports
5-18-24 Fishing Report
We set up in 130 feet of water south of the bath house. Boat traffic was heavy, but easier to deal with without the fog we had yesterday. The picture on our graph didn’t look good, so we were surprised when the chute rigger with an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 80 fired.
Port high wire diver out 150 with an 8″ Chrome Green Spot Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 150 hit and we were doubled up. We boated the King on the chute rigger and the port low wire diver out 150 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went. The chute went again at 80 and we were tripled up.
Lady Luck was with us, and we boated all 3 Kings. Both the high and low wire divers each went 2 more times. We took a Lake Trout on the Starboard high wire diver out 165 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. The chute rigger went one more time at 80 feet. We got out in deeper water and dropped the chute rigger to 200 ft. + and it took 2 Kings. We dropped the port out down to 150 feet and took a mature King on the 8″ Chrome Green Spotted Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. A little later in the morning it took another King down a little under 200 feet.
A 350 copper went 3 times with a mag glow spoon and a 375 copper went once with the same mag glow spoon. We took small Kings 7.5 and 10 color cores with Yeck Fire Balls. We lost a small King on a low wire diver out 170 with an 8″ Chrome Frog Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. The fins were deployed on all the Flip Fin Paddles. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire and pull our lead cores and coppers with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
