It didn’t look very promising this morning when we left the dock. It was pouring rain and boats that fished yesterday didn’t have much good to report. Some of our crew drove up from Florida and they wanted to fish, so out we went. We fished south of Ludington setting up by Buttersville Park in 14 feet of water (fow). We only had 3 rods set when the King pictured above right took an F11 Rapala Brown Trout on our outside bird. We trolled south to the Project. Our plan was to go around the net and take it all the way to the Bass Lake Outlet. We changed our minds after we hit 6 fish on our out troll. We ended up turning around and working between the Project and Buttersville Park between 6 and 16 fow. We had steady action all morning. Our best baits were F 11 Brown Trout and a F 11 Yellow Perch Rapalas and Carmel Icicle Dreamweaver Super Slims. We were running the Rapalas on clean birds and Carmel Icicles on 1 color cores. The Brown pictured left has a Carmel Icicle hanging on his jaw. We are using Dreamweaver Side Sweeper boards with good results. They track well.
