Surface temp was 47.8 degrees when we set up this morning. We were running 3, 5, 7.5, & 10 color cores on both sides of the boat. Starboard 3 color was 1st rod to go with an SS Burnt Bloody Nose. Port out down set at 30 with an SS Soda and a SS Half Green Jeans free sliding above it went next. The King took the bottom bait. A little later in the morning we took another King on the free slider.
Port 3 color with a Gold Fireball took a fish. Port 5 color with a small Chrome Spoon went once. An Orange Glow Spoon on a 7.5 went twice.
Port 10 color went once with a SS Rasta Goose and once with a Yeck Wart Frog. Starboard 7.5 went twice with a Gold SS Prototype. Starboard 10 color went twice with an SS Wonder Veggie. Starboard high wire Ninja Diver out 130 with an 8″ DW Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took one of our bigger Kings.
Later we put an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Wonder Bread Spin-N-Glo on that high wire ticking bottom and took a Laker. We took another Lake Trout on our chute rigger near bottom with a
10″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Wonder Bread Spin-N-Glo. We had good action early, but it slowed later. It was a nice morning, with a fun crew.
We use and recommend Nova Tackle Deep Water Trolling Series Rods, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards & Divers, and Magnum MetalZ Down Riggers.
