Our group wanted to start todays trip at 8:00 a.m. instead of our normal 5:00 a.m. departure time. So we headed back up north where we have ran our last two trips. The surface temp in 105 feet of water(fow) was 61 degrees and 100 ft. down it was 53 degrees. We took our first 4 fish pretty quick. After that the down temp started warming and the bite slowed. We hit 2 big Steelhead. The one pictured left and below hit a 10″ White Slick Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Cold Steel Big Water Meat Rig with a Dreamweaver Premium Strip. The other one hit a regular size glow spoon on a 175 copper. It put on quite a show before it threw the hook and disappeared . We took a small Salmon on a 225 copper with a mag Yeck Lighting spoon. Two of our Trout came on a Tin Can Dodger/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly 100 ft. down on the chute rigger. The rest of our Trout came on our wire divers on or near the bottom with 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors and WhirlyGigs.
