We fished south today setting up by the project in 70 to 75 feet of water (fow). There have been a few Kings caught lately in those waters so we only had 2 rods with Lake Trout rigs and the rest were set to target Kings. We hit our first King on a low wire diver, regular diver & ring, out 120 with an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly. We hit 3 fish on that rig, a Trout that we landed and another King that got away. We weren’t marking many fish on our graph so we headed in a little shallower. We ended up working between 50 & 70 fow. We took 2 Kings on a 10 color core with an 8″ White Blade Slick UV Tape Blue Dot Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly, pictured below. A little later in the morning we put out a few more trout rigs and had good success with them. Our best Trout rig was an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Chrome Mountain Dew Yellow Dot Whirly Gig on our low divers fished on or near the bottom. A regular size Yeck Copperhead on a 5 color core took 2 Kings. Our other 5 color took 3 bites with a Super Slim DW Two Face spoon. A SS Green Skinny Jeans went twice on a 7.5 color core and we took one of our biggest Kings on the other 7.5 color core with a regular size Fuzzy Bear Modified Green Dolphin. Near the end of our trip we put 10″ White Spin Doctor Dark Green Prism/Pickled Sunshine Meat Rig on a high wire diver out 120. We hit a nice King on it but lost him at the back of the boat.

5-7-18 Fishing Report
We heard a couple good reports about the skinny water fishing north of Ludington yesterday so we decided to go north and give it a try. We trolled from the mouth of the Lincoln River to the State Park Bathhouse between 10 and 20 feet of water and never had a bite. The water was flat calm, clear and the sun was shining bright. Not necessarily the best conditions for fishing the beach. We pulled lines

and ran back south to try for some Lake Trout. We set up in about the same place we fished on Saturday and trolled south. It didn’t take long to catch our first Trout. We ended up catching our 3 man limit of Lakers and released 2 more that hit when we were pulling lines. We also took a good size King on a 7.5 color lead core with a Dreamweaver UV Blue Dolphin Super Slim. All our Trout today came on 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors and Whirly Gigs. Most of the action was on our wire diver rods. We took 2 fish bouncing bottom on our chute rigger. Our best rig today was a Chrome Spin Doctor/Lemon Twist Whirly Gig.
