We heard a couple good reports about the skinny water fishing north of Ludington yesterday so we decided to go north and give it a try. We trolled from the mouth of the Lincoln River to the State Park Bathhouse between 10 and 20 feet of water and never had a bite. The water was flat calm, clear and the sun was shining bright. Not necessarily the best conditions for fishing the beach. We pulled lines and ran back south to try for some Lake Trout. We set up in about the same place we fished on Saturday and trolled south. It didn’t take long to catch our first Trout. We ended up catching our 3 man limit of Lakers and released 2 more that hit when we were pulling lines. We also took a good size King on a 7.5 color lead core with a Dreamweaver UV Blue Dolphin Super Slim. All our Trout today came on 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors and Whirly Gigs. Most of the action was on our wire diver rods. We took 2 fish bouncing bottom on our chute rigger. Our best rig today was a Chrome Spin Doctor/Lemon Twist Whirly Gig.
