Surface temp was 64 and it was 62 down 100 ft. on our Fish Hawk probe. The picture on our screen looked good, lots of bait and fish. The early bite wasn’t so good. We picked away most of the trip and had a little mid-morning flurry. Port 5 color core went 1 time with a Double Orange Crush. Port 300 copper took a big Steelhead on a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice. Port 375 copper took another Steelhead when we were letting it out on a Fireball. Starboard 225 copper took a small King on a SS UV Green Jeans.
Port high wire diver out 300 went once with an 8″ Prototype DW Flip Fin Paddle/Glow Fly. Port low wire out 200 took a King on a 10″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/Prototype Black & Red DW Meat Rig. Starboard high went 1 time out 270 and 2 times out 300 with a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Starboard low wire out 170 went 1 time with a 10″ Dreamcatcher Spin Doctor/Prototype Little Boy Blue DW Meat Rig. Port out down set at 70 went 2 times with a UV Green Jeans and a SS UV Green Jeans stacked 15 ft. above it. The fish took the stack both times. It went again down 90 with a pair of SS Eyeball Man’s.
Starboard out down set at 90 went 5 times with a pair of SS Sodas. The stack was 10 above the main bait. Both the main and stack took fish. The chute rigger down 100 with a 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and an SS Half Hulk went 4 times. Twice on the Paddle and twice on the stack. Later in the trip
we swapped out the White Slick Paddle for a 11″ Black Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It went twice. Our crew has fished with us before and did a good job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs, and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We had a cancellation for this Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to get out give us a call at 231 425-8723.
Fishing Report
9-8-25 Fishing Report
After a 5 day Mother Nature imposed lay off, it was good to be back on the water. We didn’t know what to expect after all the wind and a full moon. We knew the water would be warm, but we didn’t plan on 61 degree water down 100 feet. The fish didn’t seem to mind. Port 5 color core went 1 time with a Double Orange Crush. Port 7.5 went 1 time with a Fireball. Starboard 175 copper 1 time with a Mini Pink Dot DW Plug. Port high wire diver out 250 went 2 times with an 8″ White Slick Paddle/Glow Fly. Port low wire out 150 went 2 times with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high diver went 2 times out 270 with an 8″ Dream Catcher Spin Doctor/Glow Little Boy Blue Fly then 1 more time with an 8″ White Dagger Spin Doctor/Glow Blue Bubble Fly. Starboard low wire out 170 went 1 time with a 10″ Dream Catcher Spin Doctor/Prototype Glow Little Boy Blue DW Meat Rig. It went 2 more times with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port out down went 2 times set at 70 and 1 time 90 with a UV Green Jeans and a SS UV Green Jeans stacked 15 feet above the main bait.
The fish took the stack every time. Starboard out down set a 90 went 3 times with a pair of SS Sodas. Our best rod was our chute rigger down 100 with an 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly, pictured below. We had an SS Half Hulk stacked 15 above the Paddle. It went at least 7 times, only 1 hit on the stack.
It was nice to have Mother Nature, and the fish cooperate for our Indiana crew. We use Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs, and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. Just had a cancelation for Saturday 9/13 and Sunday 9/14. Fishing is still good. Give me a call at 231 425-8723 if you would like to get out on the Big Lake!
