It was good to be back out on the water this morning. It was 52 degrees down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. We caught several Steelhead today. They were mostly in the top 50 feet. Port and Starboard 3 color cores both had Yeck Double Orange Crushes and went a total of 3 times. Spotted SS Magic Man on a 5 color core took a Steelhead. Port 7.5 color core went once with a mag Fuzzy Bear UV Green Jeans. Starboard 10 color core went once with a DW Rasta Goose. A 250 cooper with a Bloody Mahi went twice. Port high wire diver out 150 went once with an 8″ Chrome Green Dot Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high wire out 135 went twice with an 8″ Whtie Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Later we swapped out our high wire with a Slide Diver and it took a King out 140 with a Double Orange Crush. Port low wire out 100 went once with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and once with an 8″ Chrome Green Dot Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire out 85 went twice with an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly. Port out down set at 50 went once with a pair of SS Sodas and 3 times down 70 with an 8″ White Crush Paddle/Little Boy Blue Fly. Starboard out down set at 45 went 3 times with a DW Rasta Goose and a SS Rasta Goose free sliding above it. The main bait went twice and the slider once. The chute rigger went twice down 75 with an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our crew did a good job on the rods. Those Steelhead can be tough to get in the boat. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
