We stared back off the bank. All rods were set when our 7.5 color core went with a Steely Ranger. It tangled with a 10 color and escaped. Port out down with a pair of prototype SS spoons went twice down 90.
We took a small King on the starboard out down set at 75 with a pair of SS Half Wonder Breads. Port high wire Ninja Diver out 250 with a 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a
King. Starboard low wire diver out 165 with a 10″ Atomic Chrome Killer/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig took another King. We took a smaller King on a 250 copper with a Yeck Merica spoon. Took a King on a 300 copper with an SS Wonder Veggie and another one on a 350 copper with a mag Wonder Veggie.
Took a Steelhead on a 250 copper with a Shelly Snack. Our 2 biggest Kings came in the last hour of our trip. We boated a nice one on a 400 copper with an 8″ White Slick Blue Dot Spin Doctor/Vanila Ice Meat Rig. Our last fish was a 17.6 lb. King that smoked out a 350 copper with an 8″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/Yellow Gasoline DW Meat Rig. We had a group visiting from Poland this morning and
they enjoyed their trip on Lake Michigan.
We use and recommend Nova Tackle Deep Water Trolling Series Rods, Dreamweaver Premium Meat Strips, Ninja Boards and Divers, and Magnum MeatlZ Down Riggers & Copper.

The weather man was wrong again this morning. The Lake was calm and the sky clear. Surface temp was 72 and it was 54 down 70 ft. on our Fish Hawk. Our rods were all set when our port out down set at 75 with a pair of Green Glow spoons fired. The fish hit the free slider and we couldn’t catch up to it.
That rigger went 4 more times during the morning, half the time on the free slider Starboard out down set at 65 with a pair of SS Soda’s went once. We were marking some fish up higher, we swapped the Soda’s for a pair of SS Half Wonder Breads, and raised it up to 55 ft. A nice King took the slider. Had a small King get off at the back of the boat on a 225 copper with a Yeck Merica spoon.
We took a big King on that 225 with a SS Rod Man pictured below. That spoon has been good for us last couple trips. Port 250 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Green Jeans went once. Starboard 325 cooper took one of bigger Kings on an SS Wonder Veggie.
Port low wire diver out 140 went 3 times with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Starboard low wire out 125 went 1 time with a 10″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Meat Rig with a glow head. Starboard high wire Ninja Diver out 170 went once with an 8″ White Crush Green Dot Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our Chute rigger down 90 went once with a 10″ Black Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We had an SS Half Green Hulk stacked 20 ft above the Paddle. The fish took the Paddle. Turns out the weather man wasn’t all wrong.
Before our trip ended a rainstorm moved in and the wind picked up. We were glad he was only half right. Our couple from Minnesota had a fun time on their first Salmon trip. They said it won’t be their last.
