All is well that ends well. So true for us today. We got off to a rough start this morning. Second board on our starboard side a 5 color core with a Mini Natural Glow Plug took off with a big fish. Couldn’t get any more boards out. Starboard out down set at 40 with a Mini Soda DW Plug went next with another big fish so we couldn’t get our divers set. Half the boat pretty much down during prime time. We were trolling into the waves and our auto pilot decided to wander. Port side started going.
Lost a fish on a 7.5 color core with a Mini DW Wonder Bread Plug. It went again later with a Gold Fireball. Port 10 color went 2 times with a Mini Soda DW Plug. The last few trips we have been getting a strong early bite.
Our early bite this morning wasn’t that strong. Starboard high Ninja Diver out 110 went 1 time with a Mag Warrior Hot Blueberry Muffin. Starboard low wire out 85 went 1 time with an 8″Black Slick Spin Doctor/Isotope DW Meat Rig. Chute rigger went once down 60 with a full-size Natural Glow DW Plug. Port high Ninja Diver out first at 140 then 200 went 4 times with an 8″ White slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We started hitting and boating fish on our downwind troll. Port low wire out 80 then 100 went 2
times with an 8′ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high Ninja Diver went 5 times out 170 with an 8″ White Crush Silver Back Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port 200 copper took a King on a standard size Warrior Hot Blueberry Muffin. Port 250 copper went 3 times with an 8″ White Charlie Special Flip Fin
Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard 7.5 core took a big Coho on a Gold Fireball. Starboard 10 color took another Coho with an 8″ Custom Chrome Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly with Lime Green Beads. We missed a fish on our 225 copper with an 8″ Closer Spin Doctor/Red Meat Rig. Our starboard out down took 2 Coho on an SS Rodman Spoon stacked 20 ft. above an 8″ White Crush Flip Fin Paddle/Green Crinkle Fly down 70. Our chute rigger down 75 took a King on an 11″ White Crush Silver Back Paddle with Green Dots/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly.
We started marking fish on the bottom in 200 feet of water. We dropped the chute down to 195 and took our second biggest King and our last fish on that Paddle. Our group were first timers from Ohio.
They held up well with the big waves and are taking home plenty of Lake Michigan Salmon filets. We use and recommend Nova Tackle Deep Water Series Trolling Rods, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Divers, & Premium Meat Strips, and Magnum MeatlZ Downriggers & Copper.

Port 7.5 2 times with a Mini Wonder Bread DW Plug. Starboard 7.5 1 time with a Mini Pink Dot DW Plug. Port 10 color 1 time with a DW Hot Tamale Spoon. Starboard 10 color1 time with a Mini Pink Side DW Plug and 1 time later with an 8″ Green Dragon Slayer Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our wire divers were good too. Port high wire Ninja Diver out 140 went 3 times with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire out 80 went at least 6 times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly.
Starboard high Ninja Diver out 110 went 1 time with a mag Warrior Hot Blueberry Muffin spoon and 5 times out 135 with a Custom Chrome Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire out 85 went 1 time with an 8″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Seasick Waddler Atomic Meat Rig and 1 time with an 11″ Chrome Paddle Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Not a lot of rigger action. Port out down went 1 time set at 70 with a Mini Soda DW Plug. Our chute rigger went twice down 60 early with a full size Natural Glow DW Cut Plug and 3 times down 80 with an 11″ Black Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our crew from today had 2 members that have booked the same date for 26 years. The rest of the crew were their family members. We always have a fun time fishing together.
