We fished south of Ludington today targeting Lake Trout between 70 and 100 feet of water. The action was slow. I don’t think the full moon or the approaching high pressure system helped things any. All of our bites came on 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors trailed by Spin-N-Glos except the Laker pictured below. We got that one on a UV WhirlyGig , a new product from Dreamweaver. Our crew did a great job landing the fish that bit. We had 7 trout bites and they landed the 6 that hooked up. We had 2 rigger bites and the rest came on wire divers fished on or near the bottom. We had a couple high cores out hoping to get a Steelhead or King. A small Coho took a Super Slim Magic Man on a 3 color core that they opted to throw back and let grow. We talked to a couple boats fishing offshore and their action was slow too. It took the full trip, but our crew got their Lake Trout limit.

6-16-16 Fishing Report

We fished south of Ludington today between 70 and 100 feet of water. All our bites came on divers fished on or near the bottom. We were fishing dodgers and 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors trailed by various Spin-N-Glos. The conditions were less than perfect for trout fishing. The waves were building all morning and when we pulled lines they were measuring 4.8 ft. at the buoy.
