We had a slow start this morning at the Trout grounds south of Ludington. The early bite had been good our last couple trips but not so today. We had 3 fish the first hour or so but after that the action picked up. We had 16 fish on and boated 14 of them. 13 of our bites came on our wire divers fishing on or near the bottom. Our hottest rig again today was our starboard high wire diver with an 8″ White Crush Pink Dot Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot Spin-N-Glo. Our other high wire with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Fire Tiger WhirlyGig was good too. We had Gold Spin Doctors on or low wires but we only had a couple bites on them so we swapped them out for 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctors. We had a Double Trouble Spin-N-Glo on one and a Chrome Blue Yellow Dot WhirlyGig with Glow Wings on the other. The WhirlyGig took 2 out of our last 3 fish. We took a Trout on a 5 color core with a regular DW Chilly Willy and took another one on a 7.5 color core with a mag Fuzzy Bear Frosted Veggie spoon. Our chute rigger went once with an 8″ Clear UV Spin Doctor/Mountain Ghost WhirlyGig.
