Finally fishing! We took the boat out for a shakedown trip this morning. We started in Ludington Harbor to see if we could catch some Browns. We spent a couple hours trolling there and took 3 Browns and a good size Laker. We missed a Brown too. Three of the bites came on DW Super Slims spoons and two hit F 11 Rapalas. Two of the fish on Super Slims came on a small Slide Diver out 14 ft. with a 75 ft. lead. We were satisfied catching the Browns so we pulled lines and headed out & south to try for Lake Trout. The Trout fishing was real good. It didn’t take long to boat our four man limit. We set up in front of the Project and trolled south. Most of our fish came on wire divers fished on or near the bottom with Dreamweaver Whirly Gigs behind 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors. Our best Whirly Gig was the Chrome Blue Yellow Dot with Glow Wings, pictured below. We took three Trout on riggers. Two came on regular size DW Lemon Lime spoons 40ft. down on an out down and we took one on a UV Blue Dolphin Super Slim 44 ft. down on the other out down. Fishing is very good and we have several open dates this month.
