We headed out to the Trout grounds this morning in heavy fog. We set up in 80 feet of water southwest of Ludington. The bottom temp on our Fish Hawk was 51 degrees. We started on a north northwest troll. We took our 1st fish in 85 feet of water. It was a Lake Trout on an out down with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Mountain Dew WhirlGig. We worked out a little deeper and started hitting pretty good. It was hard to troll in any particular depth because we couldn’t see shore and the bottom contour is not even. It kept us real busy trying to keep our rigs bouncing on bottom and our divers just ticking bottom but not hitting too hard. We were also dodging boats that were popping up on our radar screen. The Trout were biting all morning and we were back to the dock early with a 5 man Lake Trout limit.
