Hardly a ripple on the Lake this morning. We set up in 80 feet of water southwest of Ludington. The down temp on our Fish Hawk was 44 degrees at 75 feet. We had all our rods set before we had our first bite. It came on our port out down with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Mountain Dew Spin-N-Glo. It got off behind the boat. It took a while before we hit another fish. Finally we took one on our old faithful low wire diver with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue WhirlyGig with Glow Wings. That set up took fish all morning. Our bites were coming slow. I believe we have a pretty good Trout program, but I was having my doubts. We had an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot on our other out down. It has been a good producer for a while now but no bites this morning. I pulled it and put another 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue WhirlyGig with Glow Wings on it. We took four Lakers on that combo. After a long north troll we turned back south about three miles north of Ludington. Our action picked up considerably on the south troll. We bumped the speed up a little , 2.3 to 2.5 on our Fish Hawk probe, and that seemed to help. We Finished up a little south of Ludington.
