The Lake was like glass and the full moon shinning bright running out of Ludington this morning. We set up in 85 feet of water and trolled north. We hit our first fish before we had all our rods set. It came on an out down with an 8″ Lake trout Candy Spin Doctor/Mountain Dew WhirlyGig. That rig went four times today. The second rod to go was a 200 copper with a mag DW Green Skinny Jeans. It took a real nice Steelhead. We took another Steelhead on the same bait later in the morning on a 225 copper. We took one fish today on a low wire with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue WhirlyGig with Glow Wings. After our early mini flurry the bite got tough. We turned back south about two miles north of Ludington and finished our trip on a south troll. We hit a couple fish near the end to finish the trip on a high note. Talking to two other captains we agreed the bright full moon probably had something to do with the fish shutting off so early.
