Got to take some Family out today. My wife & grandson and my sister-in-law and her grandson. Both boys are 10 years old. We had been having good success up north but the north-northwest cooled the water down so we opted to try straight out of Ludington and a little south. We set up in 95 feet of water. We had both high wire divers and the chute rigger set with Trout rigs. One low wire had a spoon on it and the other an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly. We had 3 boards out each side with spoons. The temp 70 ft. down was 41 degrees on our Fish Hawk. We weren’t marking any fish and we were a little worried waiting for our first bite. It came on the chute rigger bouncing bottom with an 8″ White Crush Pink Dot Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot Spin-N-Glow and was a Laker. We pulled the spoons off our out downs and put Trout rigs on them. We took a big Coho on our port low wire Deeper Diver out 85 with the Blue Bubble/Blue Bubble combo. We had our chute rigger stacked with a mag Fuzzy Bear Green Slice. We took another big Coho on the spoon. We took a mature King on a 10 color core with a Super Slim Green Hulk and another big King on a 250 copper with a standard Green Goblin. We pulled our Trout rigs and put spoons on both out downs and a big White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on the chute. Our last fish came on an out down set at 85 with a mag Dreamweaver Spotted Blue Dolphin and a standard DW Spotted Blue Dolphin free sliding above it. The Coho took the slider. The boys did a fantastic job on the rods. They had a ball and went 7 for 7. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper & wire and Stealth Core on our lead core rods.
