We fished south of Ludington setting up in 160 feet of water and trolling west. Once we had our rods set the action was nonstop for most of the morning. Our out downs were set at 65 with a pair of Soda spoons and 55 with a pair of standard DW Blue Spotted Dolphins. Our chute rigger down 75 had an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a mag Fuzzy Bear UV Blue Skinny Jeans. The first time it went the fish came up under one of our divers and broke off. We lost the Paddle and stack. It was the only one of each we had onboard. We replaced it with an 11″ White Fish Scale Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and stacked it with a mag Fuzzy Bear Half Blue Jeans. We took a Trout on the Paddle and lost a fish on the stack. We had a #3 Glow Black Ladder-Back Plug on our 200 copper to start out the morning that went twice. Our 250 with a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice went several times. We had a Soda spoon on our 300. It went twice. Our 175 copper with an Orange Slice never went. Our 225 copper with a Broken Nose went a couple times. Our divers were very good today. Our port high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 190 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went at least 5 times. Our port low wire Deeper Diver out 85 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig went 3 times taking a Trout and 2 Kings. Our starboard high #4 Deeper Diver out 210 went with a prototype Flip Fin Paddle/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly took a big Coho and got tangled in two of our coppers with a big fish that got off in the mess. Our starboard low wire out 125 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took our biggest King of the day and went 4 other times. We came in 2 fish shy of our four-man limit but had lots of opportunities to limit out. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
