Started slow for us this morning. We set up in 90 feet of water south of Ludington and put it on a 250 troll. It was 43 degrees down 40 feet on our Fish Hawk. We had plugs on an out down at 40 feet, 7.5 color core, 10 color core, 150 copper and a 200 copper. Our first fish came on a spoon on our port out down set at 55 feet. Our Captain’s Choice Natural Glow plug on the other out down at 40 feet went but we missed it. We had a standard DW UV Beefeater go on a 250 copper. We started pulling our plugs and putting on spoons. We had a small King riding on our 10-color core with Captain’s Choice Green Black Ladderback plug. The further west we trolled the down temp warmed. We dropped the probe down to 60 feet and was 45-degrees. Our action started picking up once we turned on a 330-troll going with the waves. Our 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 80 on our port low wire #5 Deeper Diver went 6 times. We only boated 2 of them. Our port high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 170 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went 4 times and took our biggest King. We took a big Coho on an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 190 on our starboard high wire #4 Deeper Diver. Our starboard low wire diver didn’t go until we put a Magic Man Flip Fin DW Paddle/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat rig on it. It was out 110 with the fin deployed. We missed a bunch of fish on our coppers. They would be on, then they would be off. Our best copper bait was a standard DW UV Beefeater. We had it on a 250 & 275 copper. They both went a couple times. We pulled our Paddle off the chute rigger and put a mag Dreamweaver UV Wonder Bread spoon stacked with a standard DW UV Wonder Bread spoon down 70 feet. A big Steelhead took the stack, came to the surface, and threw the bait. It was a real nice day to be fishing on Lake Michigan. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
