We weren’t too sure about going this morning due to the forecasted thunder storms but there was no lightning at 5:00 a.m. so we headed north and started fishing. The picture on our graph didn’t look good, very few marks and no bait. All lines were set in the dark and no bites. Was wondering if we should have set back closer to the harbor when a high wire diver out 165 with a 10″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig took off. Our out down set a 65 feet with a pair of glow spoons fired and a 10 color core with a Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug went too. We had our hands full. We boated 2 out of the 3. We had one other double a little later in the morning. After the morning flurry the action was never hot and heavy but it was steady. Our best rod was a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 155 on a high wire diver. It went 3 times with big Kings. We had a low wire out 110 on a low wire diver with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It only went once. Several plug bites today. We hit fish on both our 10 color cores, 200, 225, 250 & 275 coppers all on plugs. Our 2 best were a Green Glow Black Ladderback and Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plugs. We did get some rain but we were all happy it didn’t keep us off the Lake. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and pull our cores and coppers with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
