And I thought fishing was tough yesterday. It was a lot tougher today. We set up in 100 feet of water south of Ludington and trolled west. We had all our rods set and no bites. We finally hit a fish. The young man on the rod did a good job getting it close to the boat, but it broke off, bummer. It was a while before we hit a second fish. It was a big one and our crew tag teamed it. They got it close to the boat and it popped off, another bummer. We took a rip on a high wire diver out 200 with an 8″ Spin Doctor/ Green Gasoline DW Meat Rig. Another long wait before a 300 copper took off. Finally, we boated a nice 20+ lb. King.
We had a fish rattle an out down set at 70 ft with a Blue Dolphin, but it didn’t hook up and we took a small throwback Laker on a copper with a Yeck Fireball. Our 3 big fish all hit on 300 coppers with mag black white back spoons. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.

One on a low wire Deeper Diver out 135 with a mag Green Glow spoon. The second one hit an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 210 on a high wire diver. We doubled up again on our north troll.
We took a King on a 250 copper on a Orange & Green Orange Ladderback mag Fuzzy Bear. Another king hit a high wire diver out 200 with an 8″ Dragon Slayer Spin Doctor/ Green Mile Big Water meat rig. Things slowed down so we put it on a west troll. We took a Steelhead on a 200 copper with mag Green Shorts on the out troll. We let our 8″ White Slick/Pickled Sunshine back to 245 ft. and took a nice King on it. Our last fish, a Laker, took a mag Black Orange Ladderback spoon on a 300 copper. That was it, seven bites seven fish. Our crew didn’t lose a fish. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper and wire.
