And I thought fishing was tough yesterday. It was a lot tougher today. We set up in 100 feet of water south of Ludington and trolled west. We had all our rods set and no bites. We finally hit a fish. The young man on the rod did a good job getting it close to the boat, but it broke off, bummer. It was a while before we hit a second fish. It was a big one and our crew tag teamed it. They got it close to the boat and it popped off, another bummer. We took a rip on a high wire diver out 200 with an 8″ Spin Doctor/ Green Gasoline DW Meat Rig. Another long wait before a 300 copper took off. Finally, we boated a nice 20+ lb. King. We had a fish rattle an out down set at 70 ft with a Blue Dolphin, but it didn’t hook up and we took a small throwback Laker on a copper with a Yeck Fireball. Our 3 big fish all hit on 300 coppers with mag black white back spoons. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
