After the great action we had yesterday it was hard not to turn south as we were leaving the Ludington pierheads. Heavy fog, a stiff southwest wind and a good report from a friend made it easier to try our luck closer to home. We headed straight out with a little north it and set up in 110 feet of water putting it on a north-northwest troll. Our Fish Hawk showed 50.2 surface temp. First rod in took off with a nice King. It was a low wire Deeper Diver with a Two Face spoon. Second rod in fired with another King. It was an out down set at 55 with a DW Green Jeans and a Super Slim Green Jeans free sliding above it. The King took the free slider. The rod went again later but it was a drive by, no hookup. Our chute rigger set at 65 with a big White Slick/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a King. It was our only flasher bite. Both our high Slide Divers took a fish. One with a Super Slim Magic Man and the other with a Yeck Fireball. One of our bigger fish came on a 250 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Green Jeans. Our low wire Deeper Divers took fish. One out 45 and the other out 55. The action was fast, and our crew did a great job on the rods. We had their limit before 8:30 am. Didn’t use any meat today but when we do, we use Dreamweaver Premium Strips. We use Morgans Tackle copper and wire on our copper and diver rods.
