We fished north of Ludington for our half day charter. There was a stiff north wind blowing when we set up by the bath house in 120 feet of water. The first rod in was a 5 color core with a prototype Yeck lure. A fish hit it but it wasn’t on for long. Our starboard out down with a pair of regular Dreamweaver UV Beefeaters down 75 went not long after it was set. The top bait was stacked 12 feet above the main bait. That rigger went 5 times. We lost a big fish on a 250 copper with another DW UV Beefeater. Our other out down set at 65 had a regular DW Green Skinny Jeans and a UV Green Skinny Jeans free sliding above it . It went twice. A low wire diver out 120 with a 10″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/ Moo Moo meat rig went twice. We boated a Lake Trout and lost a fish on it. We took 2 of our biggest fish on an 8″ Kevins Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 170 on a high wire diver. Only 1 bite on our chute rigger. We started out with a big White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 80. That didn’t go so we lowered it to 95 ft. and swapped it out with a big Kevin’s Girlfriend Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We took our second biggest fish on it. Our crew held up well in the rough water and did a great job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. Two best baits pictured below – DW UV Beefeater – 8″ Kevins Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly.
