We fished north today setting up in 120 feet of water just off the shelf. We thought the water would be warmer, but it was 44 degrees down 65 feet on our Fish Hawk. We had a small fish hit the free slider on an out down set at 55 feet with a pair of SS Green Hulks. We missed it. We had a long wait for our next bite. The water warmed as we got closer to the Point. We took a fish on a 7.5 color core with an orange glow spoon. It went 4 more times. Our starboard high wire diver out 125 with a SS Super Glow Alewife took a fish. A 175 copper with a SS Shelly Snack went twice. Port out down went once at 90 feet with a pair of SS Half Green Jeans. The fish took the rubber band stack 20 feet above the main bait. Our biggest King came on the chute rigger with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Fin was not deployed. A 300 copper went twice with a Yeck M&M Glow. A storm moved in during the trip. Heavy rain at times. Our crew toughed it out. We turned back south about 4 miles north of the Point. On the south troll the sky cleared and the action slowed. We only hit a couple fish on the south troll. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire and pull our coppers and wires with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
