7-21-17 Fishing Report

Good fishing today in Ludington. We went straight out and a little north of Ludington setting up in 110 feet of water and put it on a north west troll. Hit our first fish, a mature King, on a high wire diver out 125 on a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Wasn’t long after we landed that one when another big King hit a 175 copper with a Super Slim Green Skinny Jeans. We had to wait a while for our next bite. It came on a 150 copper with a Super Slim Git’er Done. We turned back south and trolled for about a mile with no bites so we turned back north and made one long troll the rest of the morning. Probably our hottest spoon was the SS Green Skinny Jeans pictured left. It went 4 times on a 175 copper. An SS Super Bread took 2 kings on a 225 copper. A SS Git’er Done went 3 times on a 150 copper. We had an 8″ Seneca Special Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on the chute rigger go 4 times. We had a Yeck Sweet Corn Spoon free sliding above it and took 2 fish, a Trout & a Coho, on the same rod.  The 10″ White Slick/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig went 3 times on a high wire diver. A 10″ Yellow Sparkler/Cold Steel Meat Rig was good on a 225 copper . With about an hour left to fish 1st Mate Corey put out an 8″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/Yellow Gasoline Meat Rig on a high wire diver and it took 2 fish. No low wire diver bites today. The Lake was calm, the sun was shining and the fish were biting. Who could ask for more? We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
